I am a highly motivated computer scientist and manager of technology, who enjoys making connections between different fields of science, business and technology.
My interests in research revolve around online communities, for instance I am interested in understanding different aspects of community organization and evolution. So far, I have focused on meritocracy in open source communities and user interests in communities on Twitter and other social networks. My next step is organic user modeling on social web streams. Organic user modeling combines interoperable user modeling approaches that automatically adapt to the (current) demands of applications which are requesting user profile information. The idea is to self-organize around
shared interests and ongoing interaction between humans and computers, so that we can understand all kinds of communities and ensure their sustainability.
