Introduction

Krysalis is the home of some projects that follow, and can help to follow, Apache-style license and guidelines.

Our development is based on the CDC paradigm, that keeps focus on Community, Documentation and Code.

Projects

The first project to appear was Centipede, a basic build framework that uses mainly Apache Ant and Cocoon.

Krysalis Wings is the new project that is starting on Krysalis, with the aim of creating a set of APIs for charting that give the user the possibility of choosing the charting package he prefers, and a charting implementation with a Krysalis Patchy License.

Krysalis Barcode is a barcode generation package written in Java. It supports various barcode types and output formats and is particularly interesting in an XSL-FO context.

Krysalis jCharts is a 100% Java based charting utility that outputs a variety of charts. This package has been designed from the ground up by volunteers for displaying charts via Servlets, JSP's, and Swing apps

You can find information on the projects in the Projects Overview.

Rules

Opensource is not anarchy but community cooperation, and cooperation needs sensible rules.

I decided to licence my code using the famous Apache 1.1 license as a template, and using the project guidelines and constitution similar to the ones of the Apache Java projects.

This is to make it clear from the start, with least doubt as possible, that all the code here contained will be used according to tried and tested rules, and the Apache ones are what I have learned to appreciate in these years.
