This page might be a good place where to say "Thank you!": I've been a beneficiary of Apache software for a long time — thanks everybody who's ever contributed to the ASF!

I got this page because I'm a contributor to the Heraldry project, currently in the incubator. Heraldry develops code to support the decentralized OpenID user-control identity system, and perhaps others in the future.

My background involves having created LID™, the first URL-based digital identity system. Today's OpenID 2.0 initiative emerged from LID's roots, and OpenID 1.0 as implemented by Brad Fitzpatrick at Six Apart, via the Yadis capability discovery protocol, which initially was created to make LID and OpenID interoperable. I'm also a co-initiator, with folks from Microsoft and VeriSign, of the OSIS Project, which is a harmonization group across open-source digital identity projects, with broad vendor participation.
