1. We mirror openoffice.org ; can we [the mirror] delete the "old" openoffice.org archive if/when the Apache OO appears in apache-dist ?

   [A] : Joe Schaefer (apache infra) says :

   That is likely if our mirrors can carry the traffic ourselves. Keep in mind the timeframe for the next OpenOffice release is perhaps within the next 1-3 months depending on resolution of remaining release-blocking issues.

2. If I remember rightly, OO provides an update feature thats built into the software, will this be hitting the mirrors automatically when there is a new release? Will it download a full install again or will we also be mirroring patches? ie, can we expect massive spikes in the traffic on release days?

   [A] : don't know yet.

3. I think there should be an option eg ::apache-no-office and ::apache-all for people who are unable to summon the necessary disk space/bandwidth

   [A] : We are investigation the possibility of an opt-out ; trying to find out if there are technical problems ; it appears there aren't.
