EWS, an implementation J2EE Web Services specification (JSR 109) is the first open source project I lead. The project is all about integrating the Web Service in to the J2EE platform, or the Silver bullet as the sun call it. The project provides a tool that accepts the Archived web Service EAR or WAR and generates the required artifacts to put the Web Service in to an Axis running on the J2EE container. One can get real use of EWS only when it is tightly bound with a J2EE container but there is a core code that is J2EE container neutral that can be used in whichever the J2EE container it is used on!
