Some things you never really needed to know about me.
Intro (we need an intro don't we)
I guess one reason that Apache web space was made available to committers was to write a little something about themselves, or to let others know what projects they are working on, their professional and perhaps also private background. Whilst I don't think it all that interesting, I'll put something about me here anyway, somebody somewhere may gain an insight about the person who signs his name Gav...
Briefly then, Born in Pinjarra, Perth, Western Australia in 1970, grew up in England and didn't move back to Perth until 30 years later. Did a stint of 3 years in Cairns before migrating down the coast to my current home in Kangaroo Island
I came across Apache Forrest by accident (I think we all did!) in June 2005, joined the lists, some fool suggested a join the dev lists and 1 year later another fool proposed me to become a committer and PMC Member which I accepted. I am a lurker on many more Apache projects and sometimes show my face now and then to make comments.
I worked in England repairing portable electrical tools for the Hire Industry for nearly 15 years before moving into a job of Software Technician which I enjoyed for 1 year before moving back to Australia. I am now self-employed running my own Computer Repair business, upgrading and repairing computers, designing and building web sites, portals, shopping carts, forums boards etc. I have a 'spare time' site called minitutorials.com where I put my tutorials on Apache HTTP server amongst other things, it also has a support forums boards. I used to write C and C++ programs. Now I enjoy any language as long as it is an acronym.
What else do you want to know, less than was was provided probably, but now google has me indexed, damn!
