Professional Life

I have studied at Middle East Technical University(METU) between 2001 and 2006, and have B.S. and M.Sc. in computer science.

I am a committer and a PMC member at the Apache Hadoop and Apache HBase projects.

Personal Life

I was born in 1982 in Eskişehir, which is a sweet little city in Turkey. I stayed there until 2001, when I moved to Ankara, the capital city of Turkey to study at METU.

I have been very enthisuastic about computers and computer games since my childhood. I started my career in computer science to "develop games". But that dream never got realized, and now I have other interests like distributed computing, data mining, etc.
